Description

A Warehouse Worker is responsible for handling goods in a warehouse environment, ensuring that items are stored, packed, and shipped efficiently. They play a critical role in the supply chain process, working to meet order fulfillment deadlines and maintaining inventory accuracy.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Goods Receiving & Stocking

  • Unloading deliveries and inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies
  • Storing items in the correct location according to inventory management systems
  • Sorting and organizing products to optimize space and accessibility
  • Labeling products with necessary details, such as barcodes or expiration dates

2. Inventory Control & Stock Management

  • Tracking inventory levels and ensuring stock is adequately replenished
  • Conducting regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy
  • Reporting low stock levels or damaged goods to the supervisor or inventory manager
  • Updating stock records and maintaining data on incoming and outgoing goods

3. Order Picking & Packing

  • Picking products according to customer orders or shipment schedules
  • Verifying the quantity, quality, and correct items before packing
  • Packaging goods securely to prevent damage during transport
  • Preparing items for shipment, including labeling and generating shipping documents

4. Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery (if certified)
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and storage of equipment
  • Loading and unloading goods safely using manual or mechanical aids

5. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Following safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and organized to prevent accidents or injuries
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting unsafe conditions

Requirements

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Physical ability to lift heavy items and perform manual labor
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
  • Basic understanding of warehouse processes, including stock management and order fulfillment

Desirable/Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment
  • Forklift certification or experience with warehouse machinery
  • Familiarity with warehouse management software (WMS) and barcode scanners
  • First Aid or safety training certification
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines
